Shield of Care provides Onsite Shared Supports (OSS) for SDA residents across Brisbane, Gold Coast, Ipswich, Caboolture and Perth—delivered as either onsite coverage (where a staff base is available) or rapid on-call coverage nearby.
Response model designed for unplanned support needs, clear boundaries, strong governance, clean reporting.

SDA operators get judged on the lived experience: safety, stability, neighbour impact, incident response, and how quickly issues are contained before they escalate. OSS works when it’s delivered consistently, with clear scope and a predictable response pathway—without blurring into routine rostered support.
Reduce avoidable incidents through faster, calmer response
Protect tenancies by managing unplanned support needs early
Support vacancy fill and retention by improving day-to-day reliability
Give your team a single, accountable OSS partner
We make the referral process simple, transparent, and respectful. We specialize in matching our support workers and clinicians with participants who need a more nuanced, trauma-informed, or neurodiversity-affirming approach.

If your building has a suitable base for staff (office/room/secure workstation), we provide onsite coverage aligned to your site’s needs, with structured handover, incident pathways and consistent presence.

If onsite space isn’t available, we place staff on-call within close proximity to your SDA cluster, supported by clear triage and escalation. This model is built for reliable response without needing a dedicated onsite room.
We’ll recommend the right model based on your tenant mix, site density and risk profile.

We confirm location(s), tenant numbers, design category context, likely demand windows, and site access requirements.

We agree scope boundaries, response pathways, after-hours escalation, documentation standards, and interface with SIL/support providers (where relevant).

Rosters established, staff inducted to site rules, contact channels set, reporting templates activated.
Want this live quickly? Use the enquiry form and we’ll send an initial proposal outline.

Clear OSS boundaries: unplanned response support, not routine daily support
Workforce quality: screened, trained, and supported staff who can hold calm under pressure
Strong documentation: call-out logs, incident summaries, trend notes (so you can see what’s actually happening)
Clean interfaces: we don’t undermine SIL or other providers; we coordinate
Accountability: one point of contact, defined escalation, measurable performance

Note: If you’re slightly outside these areas but have a multi-tenant cluster, enquire anyway—coverage depends on density and proximity.
No. If onsite space is available, onsite coverage is often the most efficient. If not, we can provide on-call coverage nearby with structured response pathways.
We define scope boundaries upfront, document call-outs as unplanned responses, and use clear interfaces so routine supports remain with the participant’s primary rostered provider.
Yes. Most OSS success depends on clean coordination. We align escalation pathways, site rules, and documentation so providers aren’t duplicating or undermining each other.
Best fit is any SDA cluster where unplanned support needs occur and reliable response protects tenancy outcomes. Higher-density clusters generally enable stronger coverage models.
Site locations, tenant/resident count, preferred model (onsite/on-call), access rules, and your key risk priorities. We can then propose a coverage approach.
If you want an OSS partner that is reliable, well-governed and easy to work with, send an enquiry and we’ll propose the right model for your locations.
